I love clay. I’ve always loved it. In all its forms. Play-Doh as a kid. A plastic toy pottery wheel as a tween. Then more pottery – real pottery – as a high schooler and college student.

 

But as a kid, I thought that Darren Stevens from Bewitched had the best job in the world. So, instead of pottery, I first followed my other passion for color and design – becoming a graphic designer, then creative director for St. Gregory Group, a Cincinnati-based marketing agency.

 

Today, I enjoy hand-building and spend much of my time trying out new shapes and processes. My favorite part? Decorating the surface. I create mostly functional pottery, and attribute my lively, colorful creations in part to my years spent in graphic design.

My current work is focused on red and white earthenware and decorating with colored glazes.
